Procedure Information
This part of your investigation involves a heart scan that takes approximately 20 minutes. You will need to lie flat on your back with your hands above your head. During the hour before the scan, you can eat and drink normally, and it’s beneficial to eat something high in fat (like crisps or chocolate) and drink at least 500ml of fluid.
A small amount of radioactivity will remain in your system for a few days. You may require a further ‘rest’ scan without medication later; if so, you will be contacted within 2 weeks. The rest scan procedure is identical but involves only one injection and a one-hour wait.
